Welcome to West Hills College Coalinga!

On behalf of the faculty, staff and administration it is my pleasure to welcome you to West Hills College Coalinga (WHCC). WHCC is an accredited, comprehensive community college that has been serving the educational needs of the west side of the San Joaquin Valley for more than 80 years. WHCC is more than a collection of buildings. It is a diverse community of educators and learners where there is a place for everyone. At WHCC there is a place for you.

WHCC is a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). We nurture student creativity and development through a wide range of programs and services that facilitate student success. At WHCC we strive to transform the lives of our students and the communities that we serve. At WHCC you can expand your horizons. We offer a variety of athletic and campus life activities. Students enjoy state of the art classrooms; a bright, inviting library, and student residence halls. At WHCC you can get to know your professors. You can meet people from across the United States and around the world.

The heart of WHCC is a team of professional staff, faculty, and administrators who innovate and collaborate to provide you a high quality educational experience. We work closely with industry partners to develop job training programs and clear pathways to employment. We provide a solid foundation in the sciences, mathematics, and general education with clear pathways to complete a degree, certificate and/or transfer to a college or university where you can earn a Bachelors of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. WHCC has received grants from the U.S. Department of Education and the National Science Foundation. We have a vested interest in increasing the number of under-represented students in science and technology based careers.

The information in this catalog is designed to assist you with your educational goals and includes important information on academic policies, course offerings, and support services. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with this information and please do not hesitate to approach any one of our friendly faculty, staff, or administrators with any questions that you may have. In addition, please make sure that you see a counselor to develop your educational plan. This is not optional. We want you to reach your full potential and we are committed to partnering with you to guide you down your path to success. WHCC specializes in assisting people who have started right where you are and supporting them to achieve their goals. Our job is to help each student succeed.
