Graduation Goes Virtual With Special Touches at West Hills College Coalinga

West Hills College Coalinga is dedicated to making graduation a special time for students. In an effort to do so as the COVID-19 pandemic continues on, WHCC will be distributing a commencement boxes filled with WHCC memorabilia, a cap and tassel, a diploma cover, and other surprises for graduates. WHCC will also be releasing a video featuring traditional graduation speakers and an acknowledgment of 2020 graduates.

The commencement boxes will be distributed on May 21 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on campus.

“Graduation is a signature event at WHCC and we look forward to it with great anticipation every year,” said Brenda Thames, President of West Hills College Coalinga. “Unfortunately, the COVID-19 restrictions on large gatherings keep us from celebrating with our graduates in-person this year.  The virtual commencement video and celebratory boxes cannot replace the in-person graduation ceremony.  However, it does provide us with an opportunity to celebrate our graduates and their accomplishments.  I will miss shaking their hands and congratulating them in person as they walk across the stage. I look forward to a time when I can congratulate our 2020 graduates in person.”

2020 graduates will be invited to the 2021 graduation ceremony.
