West Hills College has been a part of the Warkentin family for the past 29 Years. My husband, Don Warkentin, was President of the West Hills College Lemoore campus.
Don believed strongly in the students of West Hills College and made student success his primary focus. Because of this belief, Don and I donated yearly to the scholarship program. After Don’s passing we wanted to carry on Don’s passion for education so we created the Don Warkentin Memorial Scholarship. We are very proud and grateful to say that because of all the generous donations to Don’s Memorial Scholarship, recipients will annually receive a one thousand dollar scholarship.
It is very important to the Warkentin family to continue to donate to the scholarship fund in order to ensure West Hills College Lemoore students are given opportunities to continue with higher education. The Don Warkentin Memorial scholarship is designed to honor the work of students who are not only in good standing academically, but also contribute to the culture, climate, and community of West Hills College Lemoore. Being involved in the community, to better the college and the town of Lemoore, was a core value of Don’s. He encouraged his children as well as the students of West Hills College Lemoore to be more than just a student, but to be a community leader. We are proud to have been part of the West Hills College family and we will continue to support the Foundation.
