West Hills Community College District continues to prioritize the safety of its students, faculty, and staff. We have been diligently working to gather COVID-19 vaccine information for all of you and sharing today the following updates:

COVID-19 Vaccinations: West Hills CCD GuidelinesWest Hills Community College District encourages everyone to get vaccinated when they become eligible as the approved vaccines have been shown to be safe and highly effective. West Hills Community College District will not be requiring the COVID-19 vaccine for faculty, staff, or students at this time; however, the potential for a limited future mandate for some groups is under review. West Hills Community College Districts recognizes that there are individual considerations regarding vaccination and encourages anyone with concerns to consult with their health care provider.

Phase Finding and Vaccine Providers: West Hills Community College District has actively monitored online sites, including MyTurn.CA.Govand local partnerships with health care providers, area pharmacies, hospitals, and local departments of public health. West Hills Community College District is committed to helping individuals determine when they are eligible to be vaccinated and encourages them to register for available vaccinations through approved providers. This is particularly important as the state prepares to expand vaccination eligibility to Tier 1B as identified in Blueprint for a Safer Economy or visiting the county department of public health website links listed below. West Hills Community College District recommends following all applicable local guidance regarding determination of vaccine eligibility.

West Hills College Coalinga Update

In partnership with Fresno County and the City of Coalinga, West Hills College Coalinga continues to serve as a COVID-19 testing site. The College continues to advocate to host vaccination clinics as an extension of these services. The College has also partnered with Coalinga Regional Medical Center to facilitate employee access to vaccinations as they become available through that medical facility.

We were also notified this morning Rite Aid in Coalinga will be hosting a COVID-19 vaccine clinic to serve our community and the surrounding areas on Sunday, March 7, 2021. The clinic will be conducting this one-day vaccination clinic through an appointment-based system. Those wishing to schedule an appointment will have two methods:

  1. Calling the store
  2. In-person by vising the store

A pharmacy associate will assist with scheduling an appointment.

Store Information: Rite Aid Store 05793159 West Polk Street Coalinga, CA 93210 (559) 935-3597

Eligibility includes food, agriculture, education, and childcare workers.

We are also exploring opportunities with West Hills Medical Group regarding the possibility of offering a vaccine clinic for employees as they become available.

West Hills College Lemoore Update

As vaccines become available, West Hills College Lemoore will continue to offer vaccine clinics in partnership with the Kings County Department of Health. We are currently working with the County to plan vaccine clinics for people who are in the State’s Tier 1B, which includes West Hills employees.

West Hills Community College District will continue to advocate for our employees in anticipation of wider distribution of the vaccine. Additional information will be shared as appropriate. Please note that as we work with our local counties, you may receive a phone call regarding whether you are interested in the vaccine. We will continue to provide updates and additional resources as they become available.
