West Hills College Coalinga Hosts First Community Clothing Swap & Drive

Join West Hills College Coalinga ASB on Saturday, December 11th for the very first Community Clothing Swap & Drive.

The event is open to the public, and will take place in the Dance Room (by the Gym) at West Hills College Coalinga from 7:00 am - 12:00 pm.

The clothing swap is a donation based event that gives individuals the opportunity to go through their clothes and get rid of what they no longer want or wear.  At the event, they'll have the opportunity to "shop" through the clothes that others have donated and take home whatever they like. Hence the name "Clothing Swap."

It is a true swap, meaning as long as you bring clothes, you can take clothes - as many as you want - free of charge. If you don't want to donate clothes, but still want to shop, you can make a $10 cash donation on the day of the swap and take as many items as you'd like. Donations, either clothing or $10, are required to participate in the event.

All remaining items are donated to local thrift stores, shelters and charities. All monetary donations are used to purchase non-perishable food items as well as personal and feminine hygiene items to support local charities, shelters and others in need.

Bring the clothes and shoes that you are donating with you, in bags or on hangers if you're willing to donate the hangers, to the Dance Room at West Hills College Coalinga on the day of the swap at any time between 7:00 am and 12:00 pm. Donations should be in good condition. Please do not donate items that are irreparably torn, damaged or stained and please do not donate underwear.

If you want to drop donations off prior to the event, contact Pedro Garcia at pedrogarcia1@whccd.edu, or visit https://calendly.com/pedrogarcia1/clothing-swap-donation to schedule an appointment for drop-off. This is not required but is so helpful in setting up for the event.

For any questions regarding the event contact Pedro Garcia at pedrogarcia1@whccd.edu or Mackenzie Strickland at mackenziestrickland@whccd.edu.
