September 11 Remembrance Ceremonies was held in the WHCC Quad and the Firebaugh Center Plaza
On September 11th, Coalinga College and North District Center, Firebaugh held a 9/11 remembrance event, in honor of the attacks' 17th anniversary.

Everyone who attended gathered outside of our campus, including preschool students, the Firebaugh High School Choir, the Firebaugh police department, and veterans. To begin the event, our veterans performed the flag raising ceremony, and the choir performed our national anthem. We then had multiple guest speakers, who talked about attack, and it’s impact on America. Lastly, the choir performed Amazing Grace. On a final note, Firebaugh Center provided lunch to give a huge thank you for these men’s service and joining us in remembering 9/11.

Hugo Layna, the ASB president, lead the pledge of allegiance. Coalinga College’s president, Brenda Thames, gave a short speech along with Javier Cazares, who served 5 years in the navy, Jay Darnell, who served 10 years in the Marine Corps, and Simon Sauceda, who serves in law enforcement and is a funeral escort for soldiers killed in combat and officers killed in the line of duty.
