WHCC Invites Students to Join the Puente Program

West Hills College Coalinga students are invited to join the inaugural cohort for the Puente Project for Spring 2022.

The Puente Project is an academic preparation program that, for more than 25 years, has improved the college-going rate of tens of thousands of California's students. The project's mission is to increase the number of students who transfer to and enroll in four-year colleges and universities, earn their degrees, and return to the community as leaders and mentors of future generations.

Puente offers many incentives including free trips to universities and events as well as an overnight trip to San Francisco. It also offers personalized counseling to ensure you are meeting all of your academic, professional, and personal goals, connection to professional mentors, and free books and a guaranteed spot in the following classes:

ENG-001A Composition and Reading (MW 9:30 - 10:45AM @Coalinga)

NC-200 College (Online)

STUDEV-002 (W 11:00 - 11:50 AM @ Coalinga)

You will complete the English transfer requirement with academic and career support!

All students are welcome to join, regardless of race, immigration status, and income level. The only requirement to join is that students must have not taken or passed English 001A and Student Development 002.
