EOPS (Extended Opportunity Program & Services)
EOPS is a state-funded program designed to help low-income and educationally disadvantaged students gain access and complete a program of higher education.

To be eligible students must:
  • Be a resident of California or AB540
  • Qualify to receive the California Promise Grant (Fee Waiver), BOG A or BOG B
  • Be enrolled full-time (12+ units) when accepted into the EOPS Program
  • Not have completed 70+ units of degree applicable course work
  • Be educationally disadvantaged as determined by the EOPS Director or designee

 

CARE (Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education)
The Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education program was established in 1982 by the State of California as a supplemental component of EOPS. CARE provides educational support services and activities for the academically under-prepared, welfare-dependent, single head of household student population.

To be eligible students must be:

  • EOPS eligible
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Single, head of household
  • A parent of a child living at home
  • A current recipient of TANF/CalWORKs
  • Enrolled as a full-time (12 units) college student
