As a motel clerk, I learned a lot of things: how to work with customers, how to organize a front desk, and how to communicate. However, while I learned a lot, I didn’t earn a lot. As a motel clerk, my take home pay was a little over $23,000 a year. That’s not much to live on and I wanted more.
