T.E.A.M. Teach: Great in 2011-2012!
The 2010-2011 year for our T.E.A.M. Teach program was a good one. We recognized the south valley's "Fave 5" educators at our kickoff dinner in January, celebrated the fact that 32 of the students in our program transferred to a 4 year university in May, and recognized Isabel Vega (T.E.A.M. Teach Future Teacher Award), and Oscar Tafolla and Rigo Valadez (T.E.A.M. Teach Community Impact Award) at the end of the semester awards ceremony put on by the college. Over 500 textbooks were checked out through our textbook checkout program this past school year and many of our program partipants served at our summer outreach program for 6th-8th graders called the 5c Experience and on their way to YouTube stardom... check it out...
2010-2011 year was a good one for T.E.A.M. Teach... let's make 2010-2011 a great one!

We will be having our final huddle of the semester on Tuesday, May 17th from 12:00-12:50 p.m.in the WHCL Conference Center. This is my favorite huddle of the semester because we will celebrate the 30 or so students in T.E.A.M. Teach who are transferring, graduating, or both. I have posted a list of graduates/transfer students at the bottom of this e-mail. Please review it to make sure we have the correct information for you, and if you are on this list please plan on attending and getting a “parting gift” and a great lunch! If you are graduating from WHC Lemoore and/or transferring to a 4 year university this fall semester (or if you already transferred this spring) and are not on the list, please e-mail Mr. P (email@example.com) or Tiffani McGee (firstname.lastname@example.org) so we can add you to our graduation/transfer list. Our culinary program will be providing a build-your-own-burrito bar and we will also have dessert and drinks! I want to remind you that if you attended 5 huddles this school year (10-11) you get a new T.E.A.M. Teach t-shirt.
Double Huddle.. Thursday, April 7th!
We will be having a “double huddle” this Thursday, April 7th from 11:00 a.m.-12:50 p.m.in the WHCL Conference Center. The first half of the huddle (11:00-12:15) will feature Rachel Hedman, one of the top storytellers in the valley, who will teach us about the art of storytelling and how to incorporate it into the classroom. After we eat some pizza, the second half of the huddle will feature our T.E.A.M. Teach counselor, Tiffani McGee, who will share information about registration for classes in the summer and fall. Twice the time and twice the info means that this event counts as 2 huddles, and if you can only make it to hear one of the speakers you still get credit for 1 huddle. I want to remind you that if you attend 5 huddles this school year (10-11) you get a new T.E.A.M. Teach t-shirt which arrived last week and is rockin’!
