Team Teach

T.E.A.M. Teach is a free teacher education program, which started at WHCL in 2006. Through this program, West Hills students interested in becoming teachers are provided with a network of support, mentorship, and—most importantly— motivation.  Its purpose is to help guide students majoring in education and provide support that helps ensure these students meet their end goal –educators.

T.E.A.M. Teach- January 2018!

Welcome back and happy 2018! We have some exciting activities planned this semester including textbook checkout, huddles, and lots of other good stuff! Please take a few moments out of this rainy day to read through this update, or you can also just click on the T.E.A.M. Teach website or join our social media sites for much of the same information!

Virtual Textbook Checkout starts Today!

If you know T.E.A.M. Teach you know that we are all about supporting our students and for years we have had a textbook checkout program that has saved our students thousands of dollars. Thanks to many of our instructors at WHC Lemoore the whole college is now moving towards textbooks that are more reasonable in price or are an OER (Open Education Resource- no-cost) option. In fact in the Fall 2018 semester we will be launching a Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC degree) for the AA-T in Elementary Education. We do still have textbooks that can be checked out and this semester we are going to try a new approach….virtual textbook checkout! All you need to do is simply look up your books at our college bookstore website.. https://www.bkstr.com/westhillslemoorestore/home and then send the books you wish to check out to Cristina Cardoso at her e-mail cristinacardoso@whccd.edu. T.E.A.M. Teach members can check out up to 3 books based on availability and we have approximately 250 books that can be checked out….first come, first serve! Cristina will e-mail you back with what books are available and then you can come and pick your books up at the WIN Center (Room 275) at the college once you hear back from her!

T.E.A.M. Teach Huddles (Zoom In or Come for Live Event!)

We are excited to also launch a new format for our huddles this semester. We will still be meeting at the traditional noon hour for free pizza and great information in the WHCL Conference center, but we will also be adding a Zoom option for those of you who cannot get to campus at that time. I will send out a Zoom link prior to the huddles and connecting to Zoom allows you to join the meeting from your phone, laptop, or desktop computer and you can hear all of the information and guest speakers that we will have throughout the semester….unfortunately, we haven’t figured out a way to get you virtual pizza yet, but we are working on it. Here’s a list of upcoming events with more info to come soon…..but lock them on  your calendar!
