Assistive Computer Technology

Access to computers for persons with disabilities now receives equal legal consideration to access to facilities. Students and employees with disabilities have the right to utilize technologies as everyone does. With the rapid progress being made in specialized software and hardware it is now possible for persons with the most severe disabilities to use computers.

An increasing number of Lemoore College students can benefit from various assistive technologies, which can “even the playing field” for them, so to speak. Lemoore College makes assistive technologies available to students throughout the college.

Instructors: If you have a classroom or laboratory instruction that incorporates computers, please contact the DSPS Office when working with a student who has a disability. DSPS faculty will collaborate with you to provide a hands-on computer experience for the student. The goal of this experience will be for the student to complete the course requirement as independently as possible.
