EKG Technician

This comprehensive EKG Technician Course prepares students to function as cardiovascular (EKG) Technicians. This Course will include important practice and background information on anatomy of the heart and physiology, medical disease processes, medical terminology, medical ethics, legal aspects of patient contact, respiratory therapy assisting, and electrocardiography.

Additionally, students will practice with equipment and perform hands-on labs including introduction to the function and proper use of the machine, the normal anatomy of the chest wall for proper placement, 12-lead placement and other clinical practices.  Students wishing to use this course toward a health degree or certificate must obtain a 77% or above.

The enrollment process for this course is by Self-Registration.  Interested students may visit the Class Schedule section WHCL Website to register.  Once in the Class Schedule, click on the Health Science link to find the HS-62 course (EKG)

Class Schedule

 

  • Cost to out-of-house participants is $90 and includes book, handouts, and certificate of completion. There is no charge to in-house staff. They have the option to buy the textbook for $40 or borrow a used book and return it
