OER

Meet Anna and Join the #OERevolution

Meet Anna. As a mother, sometimes being a student is hard. OER helps makes that a little bit easier.

I’ve got a busy life. If I’m not running around taking my kids to soccer practice then I’m trying to study for my classes. And sometimes studying is really hard. It’s just not possible for me to haul heavy textbooks around with me all the time and it’s even harder to concentrate on reading big chunks of text when I’m also trying to be a mom.

It just got a little easier though. I’m taking a class that uses Open Educational Resources. That includes a zero cost textbook and I’m loving it. Not only was my textbook free but it’s online and completely digital. I downloaded it to my computer and phone and now I can study anywhere, anytime whether I’m at a doctor’s appointment with my kids or on a break at work.

And it makes working with study groups so much easier! Instead of having to find the time to meet on campus with some of the other students in my class, we can have a digital study group.

I’m loving it and most of all I’m loving that Lemoore College is adding even more of these classes for the Spring. And they’re the only college around here offering these!

It’s easy to find a class that uses open educational resources. Just click below to view the full schedule of classes using free OER textbooks below for Summer 2018, Fall 2018 and Spring 2019.

Open registration begins May 1. Are you ready to join the #OERevolution?
