What is the College Placement Test?
The placement testing is the method we use to determine your skills so you begin with the right class levels for your success in college.
The placement test is also known as the CPT test or CPT exam. The testing administration process may vary state-by-state and in certain states, the exam is also referred to as the AccuplacerThe test for college placement has three main parts English and Algebra or advance math.
You will need to inquire with your counselor or advisor to see if you are required to take the advanced math part of the test.

How much will the placement test cost?
Placement testing in Reading, Writing, and Math is free for West Hills College Lemoore students and prospective students.
We are unable to release placement test scores to other institutions without written permission.
Retests: What are the rules?
You can retake the English and/or Math up to 3 times; however, you MUST wait 2 weeks for each time you retest.
CPT Preparation and Review
The English part of the examination are designed to assess your knowledge and comprehension of written English.
You will need to be able to read a text in English, understand and identify both its main and specific points.
You will also need to know the basics of English grammar and sentence construction skills.
Reading skills are evaluate on the reading comprehension part of the exam.
