CSU, Fresno Dual Admission Program

The Dual Admission Program is a special opportunity offered to West Hills College students interested in guaranteed admission to Fresno State. The DA Program offers students a pathway to know exactly where they stand in the transfer process, while assuring their preparedness for continuing studies at Fresno State. The DA Program provides coordinated counseling and advisement by WHC and Fresno State staff, and other activities designed to ease and enhance the transition from WHC to Fresno State.

Program Benefits
• Attending WHC (freshman and sophomore years) and Fresno State (junior and senior years) provides the most affordable route to achieving a higher education at two quality institutions.
• Students will have primary contact persons from WHC and Fresno State for counseling and advising
• Coordinated advising will allow WHC students to view their entire degree plan at the onset of their college career, assuring that every course counts towards their degree objective.
• A Fresno State Guaranteed Admission Agreement is provided to every DA participant
• Students receive a Fresno State photo identification card (keycard), which entitles WHC students to participate in Fresno State cultural, educational, and athletic events at Fresno State student rates. Students will also have access to Henry Madden Library, computer labs, a free email account, and student discounts on computer software and much more.
• Through Cross Enrollment, students can concurrently enroll in Fresno State courses (some offered at WHC) at a discounted rate.
• To ease transition to Fresno State, students will be invited to participate in various Fresno State activities, i.e., Transfer / Application Workshops, On-Site Admission, Open House, Preview Day, Vintage Days, Dog Days, Special Outreach Events, and campus tours.

Program Eligibility

The Dual Admission Program is intended to accommodate those students who are planning to attend WHC, or have just started their college work for the first time at WHC, and are planning to complete their baccalaureate degree at Fresno State. Those eligible to apply for the DA Program must meet the following guidelines:

  • Students currently attending WHC or planning to attend WHC, who have completed no more than 30 transferable semester units or 45 transferable quarter units (not earned at other 4-year, or out-of-state colleges after high school).
  • Students pursuing a baccalaureate degree program in majors offered at Fresno State
  • California Resident

Students who have completed more than 30 semester /45 quarter units, students who have credit from 4-year, or out-of-state colleges after high school graduation, international students (studying in the U.S. on a visa), and students with international collegiate records, are not eligible to participate in the DA Program. However, these students may still meet with WHC and Fresno State counselors for guidance in planning their transfer to Fresno State.
