Student Success Committee - West Hills College Lemoore

Goal: To foster a student-centered guidance and support system that produces an active, educated, and involved citizenry.

Role: The Student Success Committee, representing all constituent groups and programs of the WHCL Student Services operation, develops, monitors, and implements the Matriculation Plan, Student Equity Plan, categorically funded program plans, and Partnership for Excellence Plan. In addition, the Student Success Committee provides oversight to the articulation and transfer process, scholarship development, financial aid services, graduation and awards ceremonies, athletics, and guidance for student government opportunities and activities. The Student Success Committee guides the planning process and recommends policies and procedures to reflect the changing needs of the student population and the community in which it serves. The Student Government Committee communicates recommendations for policy or procedure changes to all pertinent groups and to the Planning and Governance Council. Programs and departments represented by the Student Success Committee regularly evaluate the effectiveness of their services through the program review process. Recommendations made by the Student Success Committee reflect the values and support the mission of the College and are in the best interest of improving student success.

Products: Matriculation Plan, Student Equity Plan, Course Articulation submittals, annual categorical program reports, institutional research explaining retention and success.

Diversity Statement: The Student Success Committee will actively address student diversity at every level of service including but not limited to enrollment trends, outreach, registration/enrollment access, advising, retention, and student clubs and associations. When forwarding action and/or information items to the Planning and Governance Council, the Student Success Committee will identify the diversity items addressed in each item.
