Facilities
Department is responsible for maintaining the appearance, safety and
cleanliness of facilities. Custodial staff performs basic cleaning
in all classrooms every school day. Care of school facilities and
equipment is emphasized to ensure equipment's optimal performance
and safe operating condition. Custodial staff members perform "task
orientated cleaning" procedures. A quality assurance inspection plan
is used as an evaluation tool for custodial services. Custodial
Services strives to provide a consistent and quality cleaning program
which supports the mission of West Hills College Lemoore.

A. Regular Services
The following services are performed on all labs, restrooms, classrooms,
lobbies, and office areas:

Empty trash - all trash containers

Sweep floor - dust mop
-
Spot mop floor - mop up spills/sticky areas

Vacuum traffic patterns for carpeted areas

Complete mopping of floors - weekly
-
Complete vacuuming of floors - weekly
-
Upgrade floor - strip/wax/buff floor - annually
-
High-speed floor - clean/buff floor - twice a year
-
Hallway/lobby floor waxing - annually
-
Non-central stairwells - sweep/mop spills weekly
B. Office Services
The following established service levels are performed on all office
and administrative areas:

Empty trash - all trash containers daily

Sweep floor - dust mop daily

Spot mop floor - mop up spills/sticky areas daily

Vacuum carpet - vacuum traffic areas (aisles/lobby) daily

Upgrade floor - strip/wax/buff floor once a year

High-speed floor - clean/buff floor twice a year

Hallway/lobby floor waxing - annually strip/wax/buff floors
C. Additional Services
Custodial Division has established the following service initiatives
for the 2003-2004 academic year:

Window washing (exterior annually/interior bi-annually )

Pressure washing of building entries/walkways
