What’s A Little Hot Weather When Fun is Involved?

It might have been the beginning of one of the hottest stretches ever recorded in San Joaquin Valley weather, but that didn’t stop those attending our district picnic at Jack Stone’s Barn in Lemoore from having a great time with family and friends sharing good food, good times and thanks for a job well done by all.  June 25th was the date on the calendar but the weather felt more like July—unless you were playing with the kids on the water toys.

Chancellor Gornick and members of the board of trustees passed out service awards including ones to Sandy Cavins, who has been with the district the longest 36.  Here’s a list of others receiving awards (if you haven’t picked them up, there’s a nice shirt and some other goodies waiting for you in HR):

They say a picture is worth 1,000 words and in this case, that old adage is surely true.  But two words are extremely important.  Thank you.  Thank you to Keven, Becky and Nancy (and Julie even though she’s gone) from the HR staff from pulling it all together.  Thank you to Dr. Gornick, the board and the West Hills College Foundation for their vision and support of all of our employees and this very special event.  And, thank you to all West Hills employees, for the hard work that you do throughout the year to make this such an exceptional place to work and study.
