Lupe and Ivan AlvaradoCongratulations to Lupe Luna and Ivan Alvarado, who were married on April 19th in Lemoore at the chapel at Special Touch.  Lupe and Ivan met while they were students at West Hills College Coalinga seven years ago.  They plan to live in Hanford.   Lupe was a student worker in HR, was at the Farm of the Future and is now in Lemoore as senior secretary to Dean of Learning Resources Susan Kincade.

 

Wow!  Relay for Life raised $230,000 in Lemoore this past Saturday.  Cheryl Bass of our foundation office chaired the two previous relays in Lemoore and is such a vocal supporter of the program that she lost her voice!  West Hills had a team in the walk that was headed by Jan Young and Tracy Wertenberger.  Also walking were Amber Julia, Rose Denberg, Veronica Grijalva, Brenda Dodd, Stephanie Droker, Karen Shoman, Rebecca Brownlee, Glenda Jones, Isabel Guitterez, Ashley Young, Jamison Birrell, Angelica Ramirez and Don Warkentin.  Stephanie Atkinson-Alston and Naomi Daniels also worked with a team of West Hills students. 

 

Suzy, Kaityrose, & MadonnaMadonna Cardenas and Suzy Shirk are "Birthday Buddies" and celebrated their April 21st birthdays with suprise office party and a visit from Suzy's daughter, Kaityrose. A big thanks to Pedro for a wonderful chocolate cake!

 

Zhu Fu Si

 

Jim Marvin, our new marketing assistant, is proudly sharing pictures of his new granddaughter, Zhu Fu Si. She was born May 7, 2005, and lives in Zhuhai Social Welfare Institute, Guangdong Province, China.  Jim's daughter, Marla, has adopted her and will be heading to China in June to bring her home. Marla adopted another daughter from China, Malaya who is now a toddler.Cash Radebaugh

Cash Bradley Radebaugh was born March 24th joining his big brother Kaden making Suzy Shirk and David Secrease proud grandparents again. Heather Secrease and Jesse Radebaugh are Cash and Kaden's mommy and daddy.        

 

 

capGraduation is in the air—not only at West Hills but also for the children of West Hills’ employees.  During administrative retreat, Dave Bolt mentioned that his daughter, Andrea, will be graduating from Fresno State this month and that his son, Landon, will be graduating from Coalinga High.  Karan Folsom's son, Mathew, is also graduating from Coalinga High. Dr. Gornick’s daughter, Christina, graduated from the West Hills psych tech program last month. Frances Squire’s son, Wesley Wilson, is graduating from Fresno State, and Suzy Shirk's son, Doug, is graduating from Monte Vista Christian Academy and has accepted an internship with Granite Construction while completing his degree in engineering.
