WHCC Names New Associate Dean of Student Services
David J. Reynolds has been named associate dean of student services at West Hills College Coalinga after teaching English, philosophy and education courses at the college for more than 20 years.
“David Reynolds has been a tremendous asset to the faculty and staff at West Hills,” said Willard Clark Lewallen, Ph.D., president of West Hills College Coalinga. “He will continue to be an asset to the college as he takes on this new role.”
Reynolds began his career in education in 1987 as the superintendent/principal at Western Christian School, a K-8 school in Covina. In 1989, he accepted a position as an English teacher at Avenal High School. While there, he served as the English department chair and served as a mentor teacher.
While teachering at Avenal High School, Reynolds was an adjunct faculty member at Porterville College, Chapman University and West Hills College Coalinga teaching English, philosophy and education courses.
In 2005, Reynolds became a full-time faculty member at West Hills College Coalinga.
Reynolds also served as an elected member of the Hanford Joint Union High School District board of trustees from 1994-2002.
In 2007, Reynolds was a Carnegie Foundation and NISOD Excellence Award recipient.
He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Pepperdine University.
Reynolds lives in Kingsburg with his wife Judith. He and his wife have four children and six grandchildren. His wife is an elementary school teacher.
