                                                          Don't panic, it's just a drill

The West Hills North District Center will be having an emergency drill on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, which will result in some unusual activity at the center.

The type of emergency is unknown but there is no need to worry because everything is staged.   It’s all just makeup, props and actors.  With the help of Kenneth Lake, projects manager for the Placer County Office of Education, the district has been planning this drill for the past few months.

The purpose of the drill is to test the centers Incident Command System (ICS) team.  The ICS team consists of individuals from the district office as well as the center.  In the event of a real emergency, the ICS team would work together with all response agencies to meet the needs of the emergency.

The emergency drill is scheduled to take place the morning of the 27th at 10 a.m. and will last until noon.   Local response agencies will be involved.

The center would like to remind the community that this is only a drill and if they notice unusual activities at the center on Wednesday, Feb. 27th, they should not be concerned and call 911.
