WEST HILLS COLLEGE COALINGA NAMES NEW DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS, HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION
West Hills College Coalinga announced Mark Gritton as its new director of athletics, health and physical education.
“Mark Gritton has been a tremendous asset as the head coach of our football team,” said Willard Clark Lewallen, Ph.D., president of West Hills College Coalinga. “He will continue to be an asset to the college as he takes his new role of director of athletics.”
Mark Gritton also recently received the Educator of the Year award from the Coalinga Area Chamber of Commerce for his commitment to student development and community involvement.
Gritton began his career at West Hills College Coalinga in 1996. Since then, he has served as a faculty member and the head football coach for the college. Prior to West Hills, he coached football and taught at Wayne State University in Nebraska, College of the Sequoias and Humboldt University.
Gritton attended Orange Coast College, a community college in Costa Mesa. He received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in physical education from Humboldt University.
