Career & Technical Education (CTE) Connect
About CTE Connect

2nd Annual CTE Connect Workshop - Friday, May 9th

West Hills Community College District (WHCCD) is dedicated to supporting Career Technical Education (CTE); history has taught us combining academics with technical education affords most students the best opportunity for success. CTE Connect focuses on career pathways, knowledge, and skill-sets that students can use to obtain employment or advancement in a career.  All CTE programs whether at high schools or community college utilize and incorporate contextualized academics to give relevance to learning and further support this by providing hands-on learning and job experience. CTE Connect will help to connect high school and college courses and technical programs as this is what both employers and potential employees need.

It is very common for employers to require much more from their employees than in years past; this includes greater subject knowledge, advanced computer skills, expanded technical skill-sets, recognized certifications, and the ability to apply higher math and analytical skills to the job.  CTE Connect will provide information on available academic and career pathways and programs that can help develop and prepare students to reach their full potential in gaining the advanced technical skill-sets they need while streamlining academic courses in a non-duplicative format. We do this to help YOU meet the technical and educational demands of an ever-changing workplace.
