International Students Program
Why Attend Community College?

Personal Attention
Community colleges offer small size classes where international students will receive personal attention from their instructors. The average class at a community college has fewer than 30 students. In a smaller class, there is more opportunity for questions and discussions that will help students to understand the course material. Instructors are also available during office house to help with questions.

Lower Cost
The tuition at a community college is almost half that of the tuition at a four-year university. That means great savings for you and your family. In community college, you will get the same education as in the first two years of a four-year university but for half the cost!

Opportunities
Community Colleges serve a variety of students. At community college, students can:

Work towards a Transfer Degree program. In this program, students will take courses for the first two years of university education. Students will then be able to transfer to a four-year university and enter as  third year students.

Take the A.A./A.S. non-transfer degree program. These programs are geared to provide students with the general education that is needed to enter the work force upon graduation.

Complete the Occupational Certificate programs. The Occupational Certificate programs allow students to major in a specific field of study in order to gain skills for their career; generally, these programs are short term and many can be completed in one year.

Accessibility
Community colleges are open to a variety of students who meet the basic requirements. Community colleges are geared towards assisting students in reaching their goals of an university education.
