West Hills College is located in the City of Coalinga just west of Interstate 5 about halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles. It is nestled in the golden foothills of the western Central Valley.

West Hills College offers a great education at a fraction of the cost of a university. At West Hills, being a student-athlete means being a student first. Our goal is always to make sure you get a quality education partnered with a quality athletic experience. The volleyball team consistently has the highest team GPA.

Personal Attention
West Hills College offers small size classes where students receive personal attention from their instructors. The average class at West Hills has fewer than 30 students. Instructors are friendly, helpful, and most of all available. The instructors actually know your name. A caring and concerned coaching staff along with caring faculty make West Hills a unique choice.
 
Lower Cost
At $20 per unit, its a no brainer. Why pay a university tuition when you can complete your GE and transfer for a fraction of the cost!

Transferrability
At West Hills, you can get all of the classes you need (many online) to transfer to any university in the country.

On Campus Residential Living
Students have the option of living on or off campus. Those who live on campus will enjoy the convenience of added security, regular meals, and no worrisome monthly bills (rent, utilities, etc).

The staff at West Hills is very student friendly. Student Services means serving our students. Tutoring, academic advising, and transfer assistance are all here for you.

A Great Volleyball Experience
Maybe the most important reason. You will be getting quality coaching from coaches that bring a great deal of experience and concern for your development. You will learn some of the latest techniques - the same ones that our National Team and teams all around the world are using. But the coaches are not just concerned with your playing development, but with your academic, social, and personal growth as well. When you leave West Hills, you will have learned a tremendous amount, but you will have gained friendships and experinces that will last a lifetime.

California community colleges are NOT allowed to offer athletic scholarships. No community college in California may provide an athletic scholarship, housing, or transportation based on athletics.

However, numerous academic scholarships are available on a first come, first serve basis for those who apply.

Are you a CSF member? You may qualify for our President's Scholarship. It includes tuition, books, room and board.

You can live at home and commute, you can live off campus in a home or apartment, or you can live on campus in the Residence Halls. There are pros and cons too all of the options. What's best varies from person to person.

The athletic facilities will be undergoing some major rennovations over the next few years. Included in the rennovation is the Falcon Gym, the women's locker room and the addition of a new weight room, rehabilitation center, offices, and athletic training room. View the progress.

In addition to modern athletic facilities, West Hills boasts some of the most modernized classrooms in California, with wireless networking and internet access in every classroom. Additionally, instructors have the latest multi media technology at their fingertips in each classroom for a state of the art teaching environment.

What if I don't live in California?

If you don't live in California you may still be able to play at West Hills College. Not only have we had players from out of state, we have had players from as far away as Japan, Puerto Rico, Bulgaria. In any case, you will need to fill out our questionnaire first.

Also, be aware that out of State tuition is much higher. If you establish residency in California your first year, then you can enjoy the low cost of in-state tuition the second.
