Are there pre-requisites? What are the eligibility requirements?
Students must be 18 years of age, pass a background check (fingerprints) have a high school diploma or equivalency, successful completion of English 51A/equivalent or placement test score of English 1a, and successful completion of Math 87/equivalent or placement test score of Math 63.

How long is the program?
The one year program consists of three sixteen week terms with content areas in nursing science, psychiatric nursing and care of persons with developmental disabilities

What are the Class start dates and dates & times?
Classes begin every April, August & December.

How is the program structured?
Two 8 hr days of theory based lecture a week
Skills lab practice and skills check off 2 days of clinical at various facilities around your community - a wide area- students rotate through the clinical assignments and facilities.

What are the class times and locations?
Theory: 7:30 to 3:30 on campus
AH building - on campus
Skills lab - on campus
Clinical: 6:30 to 2:30

What is the total cost?
Approximate cost of tuition, books, supplies and uniforms:
$3,500 for the whole year.

Is there financial aid to assist with paying for the program?
There is financial aid available, and we will direct you to the appropriate people.

What is the starting wage?
$4905.00 to $3560.00 depending on employer.

Are there job opportunities? Yes, many – there are projected to be 800 job openings at CSH alone and many more at Porterville Developmental Center.
