Students must be at least 16 years of age, pass a background check (fingerprints) and pass a physical that indicates the ability to do the work.
How long is the program?
The program is 171 hours divided into 63 hours of theory and 108 hours of clinical, usually taught in 9 weeks, 3 days per week.
What are the class start dates and dates & times?
This course is offered once each semester, in the 2nd 9 weeks of the semester and is offered on the Coalinga and Firebaugh (Summer Session) Campuses and soon on the Lemoore Campus. The next class will start March 20th on Coalinga campus and second week in June on the Firebaugh Campus and the second nine weeks of the fall semester on Coalinga campus. Lemoore wants to begin their course in Spring ’08 pending DHS approval
How is the program structured?
Three 8 hr days a week that include theory lectures, skills lab practice and clinical at various facilities around your community.
What are the class times and locations?
Clinical: 6:30 - 2:30 Coalinga Regional & Ralph Neate long term care
7:30 – 2:30 on campus and 6:30 – 1:30 at local Nursing Homes, such as Ralph Neate.
What is the total cost?
Approximate cost is $ 606 for books, supplies, uniform and tuition.

$10-$12 to start, locally in the long term care facilities
