Overview

Industrial Maintenance Technicians (IMTs) are certified and equipped to work in the industrial, welding or agricultural industries. IMTs understand construction mechanics and construction drawings, and they can install, repair or maintain systems such as piping systems, pressure steam systems, cooling towers bearings and couplings, belt and chain drives, distillation towers and vessels, heaters and furnaces.

What are the education requirements for an IMT?

The Industrial Maintenance Technology program gives students hands-on experience at the new, state-of-the-art Farm of the Future facility. This is a 14-unit certification program that teaches students skills in the areas of electrical control systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, power tools, hand tools and safety skills. The courses offered in this program are transferrable to other colleges and align with California’s C-ID.

  • IMT-60 Industrial Core
  • IMT 61 Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Level I
  • IMT 62 Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Level II
  • IMT 70 Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Level III

Through these courses, you will gain real-world experience that will prepare you for a high-paying, high-growth career as an IMT. Certification is dependent upon successful completion of all coursework. Financial Aid assistance is available for those who qualify.
