Heavy Equipment Operation:
crawlers, tractors, scrapers, backhoes, and technical support skills, excavator, loaders, motor graders, trucks, laser controlled equipment. Equipment that is common to the agriculture land leveling business and construction. Use of the level in laying ditches, contours, land location, measurements, calculation of the area, land leveling, establishing cut, areas and yardage, setting up laser transmitters, surveying with laser indicate system.Service and Repair Equipment:
Fueling, lubricating, preventive maintenance and servicing, minor repair work, and service record keeping.Field Experience:
Field operation of heavy equipment, GPS, and survey equipment beyond the hours required for class and laboratory experience.Construction Industry:
The history of the construction industry, today's market, and where the industry is headed in the future.
Attendance required 8 hours per day Tues, Wed, Thurs & Fri; 9 hours per day on Monday for this 12 week 12.5 unit course. At $20.00 a unit and an approxamate $100.00 supply fee, the total cost is around $350.00.
Job Placement:
The school and cooperating agencies will provide opportunities for you to interview with agriculture land leveling businesses throughout the state of California. We have been working with the Land Improvement Contractors Association of California and they have assured us that if qualified individuals complete the program, they will interview and hire as many trainees as possible.
