Meeting Friday
Me either,
Mike.
Number one. Anatomy is a
three-dimensional science and will not be able to be adequately taught via
distance education until the holographic techniques necessary to present it as
such are adequately developed so that it can be done adequately in a distance
education format. Currently the development of these instruments are at a
very rudimentary level. Also, most anatomy students plan to use it in some
area in the medical field. Those types of jobs definitely have a "get your
hands dirty quality" to them. This approach and the mental attitude
necessary to succeed in this area will be lacking in a distance education
format.
Number two. Proctored exams
are necessary to be sure that all students taking Bio 10 are playing by the
same rules. Unproctored exams allow students to have access to materials
and time not available to students taking proctored exams. Also, the
knowledge needs to be stored in the student's brain so that when the student is
called upon to utilize the information/techniques taught it can be called upon
in the future. It is unlikely the same degree of diligence will be given
by students if given the unproctored
alternative.

Friday
Hello Jeff and Cliff,
Could each of you take a few minutes
and explain why:
I already know Jeff is not going to
be at the curriculum meeting Friday as he will be out of state. How about you
Cliff? Thanks.
Mike
