Want to Pursue a Career as a Reporter?

What do Reporters do?

Reporters go through hours of research, read through countless documents, interview individuals, and go through other outlets for information in order to inform the public. Fact-checking is the most important thing a reporter can do. It would be detrimental to their reputation if a reporter were to spread false information on an important topic. Ways that a reporter might spread their information are through newspapers, magazines, television, the radio, or the internet.

West Hills College’s degree programs will give you the skills necessary to write a thorough report on important issues, interview leads, and articulate your findings to the world.

What would I make as a Reporter?

In 2018, the average annual wage for a reporter in California was $45,198 but salary varies widely depending on where and in what medium you work.
