What do Psychologists do?

A psychologist must have good communications skills and know how to calm down patients in emergency situations. A psychologist meets with clients of all ages and helps them identify current or future problems in their lives and tries to help them with these problems. Ways that a psychologist identifies life problems is with interviews, tests, and observations. Once the problem is found, the psychologist works with their client to find the best program to help with their issue and helps them implement it into their life. Through regular sessions, the psychologist is able to monitor if the program is working and can adjust it if it is not.

West Hills College’s degree programs will provide the first step towards your future career as a psychologist. At West Hills College, you will gain the knowledge necessary to transfer to a four-year university and later become the psychologist you have always dreamed of becoming!
