What do Physician's Assistants do?

A physician’s assistant has the ability to practice medicine under the supervision of a physician.  They are formally trained by a physician to run diagnostics and run preventive health care services. The tasks of a physician’s assistant vary depending on what the physician they work under demands. In general, physician’s assistants examine and help treat patients, order laboratory tests and x-rays and interpret them, and treat minor injuries by suturing and casting. In some establishments a physician’s assistant has managerial responsibilities which include ordering equipment and supplies and supervising assistants and technicians. In other areas, they may be the primary physician for a patient.
